Helicopter in to remote and beautiful Boulder Lake at 1000 metres for a 4 or 6 hour alpine hike with a professional guide, both on and off track, with gourmet morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and helicopter pick up at the end of the hike.
Infrequently visited (it is normally a long and steep 25 kilometre hike from the nearest road) Boulder Lake has an interesting history connected with the Aorere goldfields.
Flying from Motueka or Awaroa, you will enjoy a 25 minute scenic helicopter journey over the Takaka Valley and Golden Bay before landing at Cow saddle to begin the hike.
Depending on your time and fitness we arrange a pick up by helicopter at a landing area away from the lake, or at Green saddle, due south of the lake.
The second 25 minute helicopter journey on the way home will take you through some of the finest scenery in the park, past Adelaide Tarn, The Dragons Teeth, Anatoki Peak, Lonely Lake and Mt Snowdon.
In order to limit our impact on the area, Simply Wild conducts only 15 trips per year to Boulder Lake.
Physical Expectation
This is not a technical alpine trip, however you need a reasonable degree of fitness and agility for both the track and off – track parts of the hike. We have experienced guides who will assist you should you require help.

We will collect you from your accommodation.
